Marquis Health Consulting Services has introduced Journeys Memory Care, an innovative memory care neighborhood model designed by experts in the field. Adopted by 18 Marquis-supported facilities, the program sets rigorous standards for care delivery, caregiver experience, and more. Journeys focuses on meeting residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs, promoting independence in a secure environment. The model emphasizes communication and engagement, incorporating a whole-team approach to care for individuals with dementia. Journeys neighborhoods feature dementia-friendly décor, secure spaces, and a variety of therapeutic activities. Certified Dementia Practitioners and physicians lead designated memory care neighborhoods, with comprehensive training for all staff members. The initiative, directed by Marquis’ Ricardo Pena, includes a 12-part Dementia Basics Education series and experiential training to enhance understanding of dementia’s impact.
