Women of Influence: A Conversation with Jules Dewey

From door-to-door windchime sales to being a QVC maven, Jules Dewey has the tenacity and heart for growing businesses. As the current Vice President of Senior Living Sales, Jules has exemplified what it means to drive excellence through leadership. Not only does Jules showcase her go-getter mentality professionally, but she does personally as well, blazing a trail for her daughter and empowering the other women in her life.

As this year’s Women of Influence nominee, Jules Dewey shares her deep connection to fierce female leadership and success in sales that inspires others. “What I’ve loved throughout my sales career, including my time at QVC, is how sales truly intersects with relationships, strategy, and problem solving”, shares Jules, adding, “a product is intended to solve a problem, so if you are listening and asking the right questions, you can help someone solve a problem through a product and show them how it benefits the outcome they’re looking for. That has always just naturally been part of who I am.”

With Senior Living being a passion of Jules, she declares that it came from humble beginnings. “Early on in my career in senior living, I was boots on the ground. I started as a med tech and worked across multiple disciplines. I was a med tech, a memory care coordinator, and an operations director. I held several roles in senior living before moving fully into sales.” states Jules, who later shares, “Senior living sales really speaks to what, for me, is a purpose driven career. You’re helping people during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives, whether it’s the older adult themselves or the adult child who’s trying to help their loved one get the support they need.”

One adult child in particular? The daughter of a resident named Claire. “While working in senior living, I met a family; a daughter, Claire, who was trying to find help for her mother, who was struggling with dementia. At first, she was focused on apartment size, amenities, pricing, and all the typical things. As I got to know the family and asked more questions about her mom, I realized it wasn’t about the floor plans or square footage at all. It was about how much her mother meant to her. It was about history, traditions, and the trust that we would care for her mom the way she would want to be cared for.”

Over the years, this familial relationship between Claire and Jules grew strong. “This daughter was known as one of the hardest families to work with, but to this day, they are still incredibly close to me. Her mother even gave me their top-secret Italian gravy recipe through her dementia, and every Christmas Eve I make it and the family comes over. I still have a picture of Claire hanging in my office. I keep it visible to remind myself why I do what I do. On tough days, I look at that picture and say, “This is why.”

Another “why” for Jules? Her own daughter recently graduated from college. “The most important leadership role I have ever had the privilege of holding is being a mom to my daughter” shares Jules. “You really can’t compare it to anything else, but the power it holds carries into every part of my life, including the workplace. Raising a daughter who marches to the beat of her own drum, who walks through the world with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose, that has been incredibly meaningful to me.”

When asked what Jules’ hopes that her daughter can learn from her in her career, she pauses. After a moment, with emotion, shares, “I hope she always brings a sense of curiosity and a desire to keep learning, understanding, and growing. I want her to know that it’s not always going to be easy. It takes grit, it takes patience, and it takes falling down sometimes and getting back up. That’s how you grow.”

The best piece of professional advice Jules has ever received? “Never get so far from the work that you forget how the work actually gets done’. One of my mentors passed away unexpectedly about a year ago. She was one of the most influential women in my life. Her name was Roxy Mast, who always said that to me.”

On an ending note, Jules was asked how she can make women feel supported in the workplace. “I feel a real responsibility to lift other women up, help them see their path to success, and celebrate their wins. Celebrating women’s successes and having a genuine desire to see other women succeed is so important.”

With over two decades in the sales field, Jules Dewey has immersed herself in supporting organizations with her strong approach to success. Jules brings a unique flavor to Marquis Health Consulting Services which champions other sales teams and leaders, making her a Woman of Influence in 2026.
