Marquis Health Consulting Services has named seven individuals as the first recipients of its newly established Mark Parkinson Higher Achievement Award, created in honor of the recently retired Mark Parkinson, long-time president and CEO of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) — the largest U.S. association representing long-term and post-acute care providers.
The award recognizes leadership excellence within the long-term care and senior living sector. Recipients include Adam Goldman, Dana Perrella, Sara Kohn, Danielle Koons, Carly Veiga, Julian Yabut, and Dr. Yogesh Viroja. The honors were announced at Marquis’ annual black-tie gala, where Clif Porter, new AHCA/NCAL president and CEO, served as presenter.
Mark Parkinson is celebrated for his decades-long contributions to elder care. After starting his career as an attorney and founding Eldercare in Kansas, he later served as the state’s governor. In 2011, he became CEO of AHCA/NCAL, leading the organization for over a decade and leaving a legacy of impactful leadership.
